The picture above is of the Royal Naval Officers Commission Scroll awarded to Sub-Lieutenant Richard Henry Dancer.
He was commissioned on 11th January 1940.

We believe that Richard survived the sinking of HMS Thanet and over three years as a prisoner of war under the Japanese.
