Joined Repulse in Portsmouth January 1939 as a boy ex Revenge. Action station 30 ft Range finder crew with Lofty Rogers R T 1 . Acting Leading Seaman when the ship was sunk.

Survived the sinking.
Joined Coastal Forces as P.O. Coxswain in 1942 . Served in M G Bs two and a half years in the MED  
Awarded the D.S.M. and M.I.D. during 1944.
