James was one of a group of men from Force Z who later served with Thomas Parsons on HMS Li-Wo: C.P.O. Rogers - HMS Repulse Leading/Seaman Adley - HMS Repulse (Probably Leading Seaman Hadley) Leading/Seaman Bennett HMS Repulse Leading Seaman Countant - HMS Prince of Wales He survived the sinking of HMS Repulse, and later the sinking of HMS Li Wo, was shot in the arm during his capture by the Japanese on 15th February 1942. He died on 26th April 1942, cause of death unknown.
