Chief Stoker

My father ALAN WALKER served aboard HMS Prince of Wales from commission until she was sank. Alan was a chief stoker and was picked up by HMS Electra after a time in the "drink" . Alan later served on HMS Falmouth and HMS Implacable aircraft carrier. Alans training took place at HMS Royal Arthur in Skegness.
Alan was a member of the survivors association until his death in 1996 after a stroke. his wife Muriel, sons Rod & Paul daughter Gail and her husband John are still members.
Muriel Walker attended the handing over of the ships bell from the First Sea Lord in Liverpool on 3rd May 2003.
