HMS Prince of Wales was my late
husband's first ship and on which he was aboard when it was sunk in the South China Sea in
1941. Being one of the lucky ones he was ultimately rescued & eventually returned to these shores to continue exploits in various theatres of war. He was Ernest J.C. Squire a boy seaman, Devonport rating & in the for'ard gun turret I believe. He wasn't a man who talked too much about his wartime experiences. All I can tell you that after the P-o-W he was at the fall of Singapore & the Normandy Landings, just to name two. Regards, Vera Squire |
