We believe that John died some time after HMS Li Wo was sunk, and that he may have been killed by Japanese troops on Bangka Island.
We believe this is the John Bennett that was on HMS Li Wo, despite the CWGC record stating otherwise.
John also served on HMS Repulse and he is listed under that ship here
