My cousin, Eric Bowker was born on the 20th October 1925 in Topsham, Devon. He was the youngest son of Arthur Bowker and May, (nee Kingdon), Bowker. He was employed at Motor Mac's, Exeter after leaving school. He lived at No. 10 Ferry Road, Topsham, with his parents, before he joined the Navy. Eric was at HMS St George, Isle of Man in October 1940. He also served on HMS Impregnable.
Eric was killed in action on HMS Jupiter, on 27th February 1942, during the Battle of The Java Sea, aged 18.
